Jacob Mast, PGA
Jacob is the PGA Head Golf Professional at Poplar Grove Golf Club. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Jacob began playing golf at an early age from watching his father Dick Mast compete on the PGA Tour. After a competitive junior, and high school career in Florida, Jacob attended Liberty University where he played on their highly ranked Division 1 team. Graduating with a degree in Government and a minor in Business Jacob decided to follow his father’s example and pursue a career in golf.
A passionate student of the game since an early age, Jacob has a great appreciation for the history of golf. Besides coaching a PGA Junior League team, Jacob has given hundreds of lessons, clinics, and camps to golfers of all ages and skill levels. As a player, Jacob loves the opportunity to compete whenever possible and enjoys the process of working on his own game.
A resident of Lynchburg, Jacob also enjoys doing outdoor activities, working out, and playing competitive Ultimate Frisbee.
Dick Mast, Life Member PGA
Turning pro in 1972, Dick Mast has competed on the PGA TOUR, Korn Ferry, Champions Tour and the European Senior Tour. He has accumulated more than 650 starts in his professional career, including four Korn Ferry Tour wins and 46 top-ten finishes. Since earning status on the Champions Tour in 2001, Mast has collected 52 Top-25 and 16 Top-Ten results, including two, third place finishes at the Senior British Open. He also holds the four-round world record of 32 under par during a PGA-sanctioned tour school at Palm Air Country Club in Sarasota, Florida.
Mast has learned the secrets of the pros — from swing biomechanics and technical performance to course strategies and mental preparation. He is passionate about teaching and helping dedicated golfers at any level of play. Mast specializes in private coaching, clinics and playing lessons for players of all abilities, corporate outings, employee incentive programs and fundraisers.
